Mammoth Campground: (Elevation 6,200 ft/1890 m)

This is the only campground in the park that is open year-round and is a first-come, first-served campground. It is uniquely positioned to provide a panoramic view of the eastern slopes of Gardner Canyon and is close to Mammoth where most needed services are located. The 85 campsites (sites 69-86 tents only) are situated on a hillside where scattered juniper and Douglas-fir trees provide shade. A trail to Mammoth is located at the far north part of the campground and passes by the amphitheater.
