Located immediately next to 7-Mile Bridge is a turn off for the Gneiss Creek Trail. If you start your hike from this location (typically considered the trail end) the full distance is 13.9 miles (22.3 km) and takes you to a location just outside of the park, approximately 9.7 miles from the West Entrance on Route 19 towards Bozeman. This trail is closed to human travel until the end of June for bear management purposes. Elevation gain is minimal, terrain is open, and the trail is flanked with acres and acres of beautiful wildflowers.
